ECYS Summer Workshops 2008 (link to brochure)

For ages 6 – 14

ECYS Associate Conductor Michail Gelfandbein will return for his twelfth summer as director of Orchestra Workshops I and II, and ECYS Wind Coach Debra Weinberg will continue the ECYS Wind Ensemble Program in Workshop III.

Young musicians will receive music theory in addition to ensemble training. The workshops will conclude with an informal evening concert on July 25.

All programs are weekdays, Monday – Friday, students participate both weeks

Workshop I Beginning Orchestra

9:00 am – 12 pm
For all instruments, an introduction to orchestra performance

Workshop II Summer Strings

2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
For intermediate to advanced strings (violin, viola, cello, bass)

Workshop III Woodwind Ensemble

2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
For intermediate to advanced woodwinds (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon)

*To ensure proper placement, an audition is required for non-members. Non-members please schedule an audition.
