Programs El Camino Wind Orchestra El Camino Wind Orchestra

Christopher Florio, Conductor

The El Camino Wind Orchestra is a wood-wind, brass and percussion ensemble composed of bright young middle and high school students from across the Bay Area.

ECWO musicians experience a wide breadth of repertoire, ranging from classical transcriptions to modern works just a few years old.  As an advanced/intermediate orchestra, students are given thorough instruction on ensemble balance and intonation while experiencing a rigorous challenge of their technical skills.

A truly “20th Century ensemble”, the Wind Orchestra aims to expose its musicians to contemporary sounds in addition to the more common classic style.  While the ECWO serves as a preparatory ensemble for some students, it is also often a destination for musicians who prefer a wind orchestra program.
