El Camino Youth Symphony is pleased to offer you placement in

El Camino Wind Orchestra for the 2017-18 Season!
Dr. Richard Roper, Conductor
Regular rehearsals on Tuesdays, 6:15-8:15pm in Palo Alto

Whether you are a new or returning member of the El Camino Wind Orchestra, you have the opportunity to be part of a very exciting series of performances under the baton of Dr. Richard Roper!

Conductor Roper holds degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Yale School of Music, and the University of Maryland. As a Harriet Hale Woolley Scholar, he spent a year studying and performing music in Paris. Committed to arts education, Dr. Roper serves on the faculties of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College/Adult Extension department, UC Santa Cruz, College of San Mateo, and the Community School of Music and Arts in Silicon Valley.

ECWO musicians experience a wide breadth of repertoire, ranging from classical transcriptions to modern works just a few years old. As an advanced/intermediate orchestra, students are given thorough instruction on ensemble balance and intonation while experiencing a rigorous challenge of their technical skills.

Important dates to note: The El Camino Wind Orchestra begins the season with seating auditions on September 5 and regular rehearsals start September 12, 2017.

Registration is due by May 14th!

Summer Conservatory

Looking for a way to stay tuned up over the summer? ECYS offers the Summer Music Conservatory: Chamber Winds. The two-week workshop will focus on small group/chamber winds repertoire.This is an optional program for members and non-members

Chamber Music Program
September to January

Chamber Music is open to musicians who play flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and French horn. Each ensemble is coached weekly by ECYS faculty and closely studies a work of the major repertoire. This is an optional, scholarship program for members. More info >>
