Symphony International Tour

Concerts tours are the ultimate Symphony experience, and also an essential part of the Symphony program.

Every two years the Symphony Orchestra performs a tour, inspiring international audiences and providing an opportunity for the musicians to learn about other cultures, art and history, and to understand the role their music plays as an universal communication.

Tour is the ultimate artistic test of the orchestra, and also the culmination and expression of the highest achievement of the orchestra. It is simply irreplaceable as an experience that matures and defines the character and unity of the orchestra.


2011 The Tour featured soloist Naomi Kudo, piano, and included memorable performances in Girona, Spain in the Municipal Theater with the Conservatori de Musica; in Pamplona, Spain in the Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio de Navarra with the Conservatorio Profesional de Musica “Pablo Sarasate”; in Bordeaux, France at the Eglise Saint-Gervais of Jonsac for the Festival Des Eurochestries; in Bandol, France at the Salle Jules Verne; in Nice, France at the Conservatoire a Rayonnement Regional de Nice; and in Paris, France for the Dimanches Musicaux de La Madeleine.

2009 The Symphony traveled to Poland and Germany, with performances in Warsaw, Katowice, Wroclaw, Potsdam and concluded in Leipzig, at the legendary Gewandaus Concert Hall. Read the articles and reviews!

2007
The Symphony performed in Helsinki, Finland, in Talinn and Tartu, Estonia, and in St. Petersburg and Novorgod, Russia! Read the review published in St. Petersburg. English  Russian

2005 The Symphony traveled to Central Europe, where they received accolades and encores from a full house at Budapest’s Franz Liszt Academy, and performed for more than 1000 at Prague’s Dvorak Hall. The tour included visits to Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany.

2003 The Symphony Orchestra toured Italy, including stops in Venice, Florence, Naples and Rome, including memorable performances at the Villa Caldogno as part of the Vicenza Summer Music Series, at La Rocca, in the medieval castle, as part of the Cento Summer Music Series, and in the Roman Amphitheatre at Albano Laziale.

2000 The Symphony season culminated in Tour 2000, destination France. The Symphony performed several concerts in Paris and Normandy, at EuroDisney, participated in festivals such as the Savois and Saint-Germain, and performed in Grenoble and Geneva.

1998 The Symphony toured England and Scotland, and participated in the Bournemouth Music Festival, and the Glasgow West End Festival.

1996 The Symphony toured Italy and Austria, participating in the 1996 International Music Meeting in Abano Terse, Italy and the International Festival of Youth and Music in Vienna, Austria. At the festival, the Symphony won second place in the orchestra competition.

1987 Performed at the World of Music Festival in Hawaii, and were honored to be the first ensemble from California to participate in the Carnegie Hall American Youth Debut Series in New York City.
